Meet Jon

Conservative Republican State Representative Jon Cross is serving the people of Northwest Ohio’s 83rd District, which includes Hancock, Hardin and (portion of) Logan counties.

Representative Cross is a proud father and husband, and a principled conservative championing legislation that protects our rights and freedoms. Jon works tirelessly every day to defend our Second Amendment and the sanctity of life, and to make Ohio great by cutting your taxes and keeping the government out of business. That's why he's proud to be the only endorsed candidate by the NRA (A Rated), Buckeye Firearms, Ohio Right to Life, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, NFIB, and earned a 100% rating by Ohio Gun Owners.

As a member of Ohio House leadership, serving as the Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Jon makes sure Northwest Ohio's voice is always well represented to defend our conservative values and fight for workers and their families.

Jon was the champion for Ohio's historic $3 billion dollar tax cuts, saving girl's sports, and ensuring parent's have a say in their child's education. Jon was also proud to override Governor DeWine's veto of HB 68 so that biological men can't compete in girls' sports and banning harmful and dangerous gender-altering surgeries from being performed on minors.

Prior to being elected, Cross served as the chief executive officer and economic development director for the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance. His career pathway has allowed him to obtain a vast amount of public and private sector work experiences in business, government, non-profit, real estate development and economic and workforce development.

Cross graduated from Kenton High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. He and his wife Christina Cross, a practicing business attorney and educator, are loving parents of their two young boys Carson and Connor. They reside in Findlay where they are members of St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
